Workshop Track “Shape Complexity” – Eurographics 2021
January 15, 2021
Workshop Description
I co-organized a workshop track at Eurographics 2021, “Quantifying Shape Complexity,” at the Workshop Series on 3D Object Retrieval.
The workshop track introduces new 3D shape datasets and investigates benchmark measures of their 3D shape complexity. It also investigates their correlations and the possibility of using complexity measures for content-based object retrieval. The results of this workshop are published as a peer-reviewed journal article.
Description of Datasets
The dataset consists of three collections. The first contains 1800 perturbed cube and sphere models classified into 4 categories. The second 50 shapes inspired from the fields of architecture and design classified into 2 categories. The third contains data from the Princeton Segmentation Benchmark (with 19 natural object categories).
About SHREC 2021
The general objective of the 3D Shape Retrieval Contest is to evaluate the effectiveness of 3D-shape retrieval algorithms. SHREC2021 is the sixteenth edition of the contest. Like previous years, it is organized in conjunction with the Eurographics 2021 Workshop on 3D Object Retrieval. At least one author per track must register for the workshop, and present the results. We also cordially invite all participants of a track to register and attend the workshop.
Together with M. Ferhat Arslan and Sibel Tari (Middle East Technical University) and Paul L. Rosin (Cardiff University).
